Ekobord, in the building materials sector, enhances facades with its fiber cement products, primarily used in exterior cladding, and brings the facades to a different level with its superior features.

About Us

Ekobord was founded in 2013 in the 2nd Organized Industrial Zone of Bilecik, Turkey. At the facility where production runs continuously, fibercement boards with unique and distinct textures are manufactured using specialized technologies such as flow-on and pressing.

Fiber cement boards, composed of silica sand, cement, and cellulose, stand out for their human and environmentally friendly raw materials, superior insulation properties, high energy efficiency, resistance to combustion, durability, and adaptability to all climatic conditions. These panels are used as insulation material in the floors and ceilings of containers and the walls of prefabricated structures as an essential component of prefabricated building sector in addition to exterior cladding of reinforced concrete and steel buildings. They can also be used decoratively in interior applications.

Ekobord, the building materials brand of Vefa Group, one of Turkey's leading prefabricated building brands, meets domestic demands through its extensive dealer network and sales points, while steadily expanding its export network to countries such as the United States, Iraq, and Poland.

Growing with Vision: Our Investment Journey in Fiber Cement
Since 1990, our group has been operating in the prefabricated building sector and, in 2011, made a strategic decision to invest in the fiber cement industry upon recognizing the growing demand and capacity gap in Turkey. In 2013, we became the first company in Turkey to start production using both flow-on and pressing technologies, quickly establishing ourselves as a trusted supplier both domestically and internationally.

The global fiber cement market, which was valued at approximately USD 19.1 billion in 2023, is projected to grow at a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of around 5.6% between 2024 and 2030. According to the 2024 report by McKinsey Global Institute, modular construction ranks 11th among the sectors expected to shape the future of the global economy. As an essential component of modular structures, fiber cement is widely used in living containers, prefabricated buildings, and light steel constructions. These indicators clearly demonstrate that the importance and application of fiber cement in the construction industry will continue to grow steadily in the coming years.
In response to this trend and the rising demand for sustainable, high-performance building materials, we launched an investment in a second fiber cement production line at our existing facility in 2022. Developed largely with local technologies and funded through our own equity, the new line became operational in April 2025. With this investment, we increased our total production capacity by 2.5 times, reaching 7.5 million square meters annually. Alongside this expansion, we also added a higher value-added product to our portfolio: through-colored fiber cement boards. As the first company in Turkey equipped with the most advanced technology for this innovation, we are actively working to position this product primarily in the European market. Moreover, with our increased capacity, we have initiated plans to develop more innovative products that meet higher standards, particularly for European markets.

In line with our environmental sustainability vision, we have invested in a Solar Power Plant (SPP), which now supplies a significant portion of our energy needs. This initiative has enabled us to reduce both our environmental impact and energy costs.

Our goals for 2025 include increasing our export share to 50% through our new production line, high-value colored products, and expanded global reach.

We extend our sincere gratitude to all our employees, suppliers, and business partners who have been part of this journey. Moving forward, we remain committed to growing our company while delivering long-term value to our industry and national economy.

Sincerely,
Orhan Güner (MSc, IWE)
Chairman of the Board, Vefa Group

R&D and P&D

AR-GE
Ekobord's production facility includes a laboratory capable of conducting all technical and physical tests related to its products. Tests such as cycle life, impact resistance, and bending strength are carried out in the laboratory. These tests ensure the maintenance of quality standards and contribute to the continuous improvement of the products. The laboratory also has the capability to produce prototype products.
